October News

Dear Parents,

We have made it through the first few weeks of school. It is going great! I am so excited to see how much everyone has grown and all the new faces. We have been working hard at learning our daily routine. I just want to clarify a few things and send out a schedule of some upcoming events.

Paperwork- Our policy requires that every student have all paperwork turned in within 30 days from the first day of classes. This does include a copy of their birth certificate and a physical. The deadline to have everything turned in Monday, October 1st. If a child is missing any paperwork after the deadline, they cannot attend classes until everything is turned in. Thank you for your cooperation!

Intro to High Scope Curriculum/Open House – Wed. October 3rd at 6:00 p.m. We will have a short parent meeting explaining our daily teaching curriculum, goals, and explanation of our day. This is the time for you to come and ask questions, check on your child's progress, and see how everything is laid out in our room.

Sickness- Our licensing rules state that a child must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. We ask the parents to please cooperate with this policy.

Alphabet-We started learning our letters on Monday, September 17th. We will be doing several activities every week that involve each letter. On Friday we will have shown and tell. I am asking that students brings items that start with our letter of the week. (example: letter A= apple, or stuffed animal)

Clothing- Parents, the weather is changing so it is time to update your child's cubby. Please send a pair of pants, long sleeve shirt, and a pair of socks for your child to keep at school in case of an accident.

Pumpkin Patch- We will be going to Louisburg Cider Mill on Wednesday, October 17th

School Carnival- On Friday, October 12th we will have the school carnival from 6-9pm.PTO will be selling advanced tickets before and after school a couple days before the carnival. The high school classes will have food, desserts, cake walk, and a country store for you to purchase all kinds of treasures. The elementary and junior high students will have different games set up in the gym. We ask that each family please work a shift and help with prizes. I will send home more details closer to the carnival.
